Новый финансовый инструмент получил название Bond-i (сокращение от Blockchain Operated New Debt Instrument — «Новый долговой инструмент, оперируемый блокчейном»). Оно также представляет собой отсылку к самому популярному в Австралии пляжу.
Исполнительный директор СВА Джеймс Уолл отметил, что таким образом сокращается время выпуска ценных бумаг и отпадает необходимость в использовании ручного труда кастодиана и регистратора.
Всемирный банк периодически использует свои ресурсы для того, чтобы создать новые рынки облигаций. Для поддержки экономической стабильности в развивающихся странах ежегодно выпускаются бонды на сумму $50-60 млрд.
План по сбору средств перевыполнен
Облигации на сумму 110 млн австралийских долларов (около $81 млн) планируют приобрести Northern Trust, First State Super, QBE Insurance, NSWTreasury Corporation, Treasury Corporation of Victoria, SAFA и CommBank.
