В планах команды блокчейн-игры Axie Infinity хотя бы частичная компенсация украденной злоумышленником криптовалюты. Но команда проекта признала, что процесс займет время, сообщает Bloomberg.
«Планируем, что за два года некоторые фонды будут восстановлены. Два года для Axie — хорошее время, чтобы получить больше информации. Мы здесь для игры вдолгую», — сообщил операционный директор Sky Mavis Александр Леонард Ларсен.
Он также добавил, что компания сотрудничает с различными правоохранительными органами для отслеживания и возврата токенов, в основном Ethereum. Подробностей расследования он не раскрыл.
Относительно вероятности возвращения средств, сообщил главный следователь из специализирующейся на криптобезопасности фирмы Merkle Science Ришав Раи. По его словам, случаи восстановления всех украденных средств в результате крупных атак «очень редки».
Ларсен также подтвердил, что взлом осуществлен посредством атаки на одного из сотрудников методами социальной инженерии. Хакер получил доступ к пяти нодам из девяти, что позволило несанкционированно вывести средства.
Чтобы компенсировать украденную криптовалюту, компания использует собственные средства на $450 млн. Ларсен подчеркнул, что финансовое положение компании остается прочным.
Согласно данных от 28 марта, количество пользователей игры снизилось на 45% от пикового значения ноября 2021 года.
