Стало известно, что институциональная платформа для торговли BTC-деривативами Bakkt путем обратного слияния станет публичной компанией. Аналитики уже оценили сделку в $2 млрд, об этом сообщает Bloomberg.
По информации источников, Bakkt поглотит фирму VPC Impact Acquisition Holdings. Иными словами, это SPAC-компания — она является публичной, но не ведет операционную деятельность. Главная задача SPAC — помочь другим выйти на биржу.
К примеру, специалисты Goldman Sachs сообщали, что в 2020 году на сделки обратного слияния с такими фирмами пришлось 52% от $140 млрд, совокупно привлеченных в ходе.
Платформа Bakkt является частью финансовой корпорации Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), родительской компании Нью-Йоркской фондовой биржи. На Bakkt торгуются опционы и поставочные и расчетные фьючерсы на биткоин.
Изначально платформу возглавляла Келли Лоффлер, однако ее назначили на место сенатора от штата Джорджии. На прошедших выборах она проиграла представителю Демократической партии.
