Во время интервью на телеканале CNBC в программе Squawk Box Карповича спросили, как на работе JP Morgan отразится появление финтех-стартапов, утверждающих, что могут делать то же самое, что и известные банки, только с меньшей комиссией.
«Вообще-то этим стартапам нужны банки, чтобы перемещать активы. Так что это скорее партнерство, чем конкуренция. Что касается надбавки, то никто не хочет платить за платеж. Это одна из самых трудных частей этого процесса: у вас ограниченные ресурсы и возможности продажи, поэтому вам нужны высокоэффективные и крупные игроки», – пояснил Рон.

Далее у Карповича спросили, насколько далеко то время, когда клиенты онлайн-магазинов будут совершать платежи через блокчейн-сети.
«Думаю, что «за кулисами» платежей, несомненно, будет блокчейн. Полагаю, что как потребитель вы ничего не заметите. Вы будете продолжать платить так, как предпочитаете – с помощью кошелька, карты, банковского счета, но за всем этим будет стоять блокчейн или подобного рода технология, которая сделает ваши платежи быстрее и дешевле», – сказал Карпович.
