О планах тестировать цифровой евро стало известно еще в декабре 2019 года. В марте 2020 года появились первые детали предстоящего исследования и поиск заинтересованных в проведении этих тестов. В мае также появилась информация об успешном проведении исследования на базе специально созданного блокчейна.
Блокчейн Tezos был выбран, как «идеальное долгосрочное решение для дорогостоящих финансовых предложений».
Нужно сказать, что Франция уж не первый год ведет активную борьбу с анонимными криптовалютами. В прошлом году было официальное заявление о необходимости их запрета. Именно по этой причине министерство предложило создать единый цифровой актив для всех стран ЕС.
В конце 2019 года во Франции разработали CBDC и в начале 2020 года криптовалюта получила статус денег.
