Оценочная стоимость Circle до слияния – $4,5 млрд. Согласно сделке, объединенная компания получит $415 млн в виде инвестиционных обязательств из расчета $10 за акцию. Ее поддержат Marshall Wace, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Adage Capital Management, Third Point и другие инвесторы, в том числе институциональные.
Нынешние акционеры Circle сохранят за собой около 86% акций объединенной компании. Ожидается, что сделку закроют в IV квартале 2021 года.
«Circle была основана с целью преобразования глобальной экономической системы с помощью цифровых валют и открытого интернета», — сообщил соучредитель и глава компании Джереми Аллэйр.
Он также добавил, что листинг на фондовой бирже предоставит Circle «капитал и связи» для достижения этой миссии. Он отметил, что компания позволит предприятиям по всему миру подключиться к «более открытой, инклюзивной и эффективной экономической системе».
Напомним, в июне Circle сообщила о запуске USDC на блокчейне Tron. Размещение актива в этой сети может ужесточить конкуренцию с лидером сегмента — Tether (USDT).
В отчете о прозрачности последнего, больше всего USDT (~$32 млрд) выпущено именно в Tron.
