Скандал с утерей ключей от холодных кошельков канадской биржи QuadrigaCX вывел проблему на качественно новый уровень. Вчера компания Coinbase в официальном блоге объявила о долгожданной поддержке криптовалютным кошельком Coinbase Wallet главного цифрового актива – биткоина.
«Начиная с сегодняшнего дня, вы можете хранить свой биткойн (BTC) прямо в приложении Coinbase Wallet», – говорится в сообщении.
Компания заявляет, что главной целью является создание самого надежного криптовалютного кошелька. До сих пор Coinbase Wallet поддерживал хранение эфириума, Ethereum Classic, различные токены ERC20 и коллекционные монеты ERC721.
На протяжении ближайших недель все пользователи мобильных приложений, работающих под iOS и Android, также получат возможность работать с биткоином. Поддержка BTC вводится по умолчанию. Пользователю необходимо только выбрать необходимую опцию в меню Coinbase Wallet и отправить биткоин на свой кошелек. При этом заявлена поддержка как SegWit, так и старых адресов.
В Coinbase Wallet использована технология шифрования Secure Enclave, позиционирующаяся как одна из самых надежных на сегодняшний день. Клиентам будет доступна и тестовая сеть Bitcoin Testnet.
