Такие шаги спровоцированы проблемами у дочерней криптолендинговой платформы Genesis Digital. Напомним, Genesis Digital задолжала $3 млрд, по данным СМИ. В эту сумму входят требования клиентов биржи Gemini на $900 млн.
После того, как Кэмерон Уинклвосс в очередном открытом письме призвал главу DCG Барри Силберта уйти в отставку, появились опасения, что Genesis подаст заявление о банкротстве.
К примеру, в ноябре, платформа не исключила этот сценарий в попытке привлечь финансирование. Подобный шаг вызвал тревогу по поводу устойчивости материнской DCG и будущего GBTC.
В начале 2023 года Digital Currency Group объявила о закрытии дочерней структуры HQ Digital, специализирующейся на управлении активами. Genesis Trading сократила 30% сотрудников.
Напомним, по информации Bloomberg, в январе SEC и Минюст США начали изучать характер взаимодействия Digital Currency Group с Genesis Trading.
