Основатель TRON Джастин Сан готов купить активы, принадлежащих группе компаний Digital Currency Group (DCG) Барри Силберта. На эту инвестицию он планирует потратить около $1 млрд собственных средств. Об этом основатель Tron рассказал журналистам Reuters.
Напомним, в ноябре 2022 года OTC-платформа Genesis Trading (часть DGG) заморозила вывод средств и выдачу новых займов, а позже попыталась привлечь экстренное финансирование в размере $1 млрд.
Как информируют аналитики Financial Times, Genesis должна кредиторам более $3 млрд и рассматривает возможность продажи ряда портфельных инвестиций. В частности, компания совместно с материнской структурой должна клиентам криптовалютной биржи Gemini около $900 млн.
Сооснователь Gemini, Кэмерон Уинклвосс потребовал вернуть активы и впоследствии призвал Силберта уйти в отставку. По словам главы биржи, DCG вводила общественность в заблуждение касательно ее финансового состояния и платежеспособности.
В состав DCG также входит компания Grayscale Investments, управляющая семейством криптовалютных фондов. В конце 2022 года дисконт паев биткоин-траста Bitcoin Investment Trust (GBTC) к NAV превысил 48%.
В интервью Reuters Сан сообщил, что готов потратить до $1 млрд на покупку некоторых активов DCG, «в зависимости от оценки ситуации». Но не уточнил конкретную сферу интереса.
