Разработчики Ethereum Foundation сообщили о запуске последнего этапа на пути к полноценной сети Ethereum 2.0. Активация Medalla даст возможность разработчикам провести все необходимые испытания перед запуском нулевой фазы.
Как и планировали тестсеть была активирована на блоке №1596546008 в 16:00 по Киеву. Часть валидаторов все-таки не смогли присутствовать при запуске.

Для успешного запуска Medalla требовалось внести на адрес депозитарного контракта 524 288 тестовых ETH. Условие успешно выполнено, даже перевыполнено, поскольку пользователи внесли больше ETH, чем требовалось. Активация тестовой сети транслировалась в YouTube (присутствовало 1700 человек).
Medalla поддерживают пять клиентов:
- Lighthouse
- Nimbus
- Prysm
- Teku
- Lodestar
Интересно, что Lodestar был добавлен в самый последний момент.
Это обновление Ethereum 2.0 улучшает пропускную способность блокчейна и трансформирует его в новый механизм достижения консенсуса — Proof-of-Stake (PoS).
Напомним, что за 5 лет существования Ethereum суммарно через сеть было передано объем стоимостью $986 млрд. Такие данные сообщает The Block со ссылкой на CoinMetrics.
