FINMA пока не сформулировало официальную позицию по применению к криптовалютам «Общих регулятивных подходов к повышению устойчивости банков и банковского сектора» и «Международных подходов к оценке, стандартам и мониторингу риска ликвидности» (Basel III). Однако письмо в EXPERTsuisse, ассоциацию, представляющую швейцарских поверенных и бухгалтеров, показывает, что регулятор задумывается об этом.
«FINMA в последнее время получает все возрастающее количество запросов от банков и дилеров ценных бумаг, владеющих криптовалютами и являющихся субъектами требований достаточности капитала, правил распределения рисков и правил расчета кратковременных коэффициентов ликвидности», – говорится в письме, датированном 15 октября.
До тех пор, пока Базельский комитет по банковскому надзору (Basel Committee on Banking Supervision) не составит глобальных рекомендаций, FINMA советует финансовым учреждениям оценивать риски криптоактивов в размере 800%, чтобы покрыть рыночные и кредитные риски.
