ЦБ второй по величине экономики ЕС начал тестирование цифрового актива, получившего название «цифровой евро». Суть теста – определить, каким образом цифровой актив можно интегрировать в существующую финансовую систему.

Еще в прошлом году о возможных экспериментах намекал глава Банка Франции, Франциск Виллерой де Галхау:
«Запрос со стороны общества постоянно растет, политическая элита также не против использования цифровых активов.»
ЦБ выпустил свой комментарий на этот счет:
«С целью узнать, какие возможности перед нами открывает такая технология и чтобы определить варианты интеграции CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) в регулирование сделок с токенизированным финансовым активом.»
ЦБ Франции также намерен привлекать к сотрудничеству центральные банки стран, уже выпустившие свои CBDC. До 10 июля 2020 года регулятор определит участников эксперимента.
Также в Банке сообщают, что эти действия никак не означают, что со временем Франция планирует отказаться от евро, эмиссию которой контролирует Европейский центральный банк.
