Член Совета управляющих Федеральной резервной системы (ФРС) Лаэль Брейнард говорит, что регулятор позитивно настроен по отношению к новым технологиям и нацелен на создание собственной платежной системы.
FedNow — это платежный сервис, разработка ФРС. Запланировано, что этот платежный инструмент смогут использовать американские банки для обработки операций и проведения расчетов в режиме реального времени.
Предварительно старт платформы FedNow планировали на 2023 — 2024 год. Но теперь регулятор активно уделяет внимание разработке ключевых аспектов программы для более раннего запуска системы.
Брейнард указала, что пандемия COVID-19 продемонстрировала, насколько люди нуждаются в «устойчивой системе мгновенных платежей.
«Когда будет нейтральная платформа, банки в партнерстве с другими компаниями смогут предоставлять намного больше инновационных услуг. Услуг, о возможной реализации которых мы даже не догадывались», — сказала Брейнард.
Напомним, что SEC планирует мониторить смарт-контракты. На данный момент Комиссия по ценным бумагам и биржам США в поисках необходимых инструментов для работы.
