Из описания известно, что новый специалист должен возглавить секцию по отслеживанию, контролю, оценке цифровых инноваций и рисков, связанных с ними. На данный момент есть 22 кандидата.
Подразделение ФРС должно будет заниматься разработкой и внедрением стандартов и правил по управлению рисками для инфраструктур финансового рынка, резервных банков и платежных систем.
Вакансия была открыта спустя несколько дней после того, как председатель Джером Пауэлл во время онлайн-конференции Принстонского университета обозначил регулирование стейблкоинов приоритетной задачей. По его словам, есть «очевидная потребность» в CBDC, но чтобы выпустить ее — «необходимы годы».
До этого Пауэлл говорил, что для ФРС приоритетно не первой выпустить цифровую валюту, а сделать это с правильным подходом.
