Журналисты Financial Times получили информацию от закрытых источников о том, что криптовалютный брокер Genesis Global Capital и его материнская компания Digital Currency Group (DCG) должны клиентам биржи Gemini $900 млн.
Дело в том, что 16 ноября Genesis Trading (входит в DCG) заморозила вывод средств и выдачу новых займов. Это произошло на фоне «повышенных запросов» со стороны клиентов после коллапса FTX.
Источник издания FT утверждает, что биржа близнецов Уинклвоссов пытается вернуть клиентские активы. Для этого она сформировала комитет кредиторов.
Genesis Global Capital нанял Moelis & Company для поиска потенциальных вариантов решения. Ранее о привлечении инвестиционного банка сообщали журналисты The New York Times. Согласно изданию, брокер изучает различные варианты, в том числе банкротство.
До этого, в ноябре, журналисты The Wall Street Journal также сообщали, что Genesis Trading запросила экстренное финансирование в размере $1 млрд. По данным газеты, платформа продолжала вывод депозитов «в основном за счет розничных программ и партнеров Genesis (например, Gemini Earn), а также институциональных клиентов».
