По информации майнинговой компании Greenidge Generation, руководство приняло решение инвестировать в строительство в штате Южная Каролина (США) дата-центра для майнинга криптовалют. Сумма инвестиций составит $264 млн.

По предварительной информации, центр будет построен в округе Спартанбург. Уже планируют создать 40 новых рабочих мест. Потребляемая мощность центра достигнет не менее 100 МВт.
Старт первой фазы реализации проекта запланировали на вторую половину 2022 года. Следующий этап расширения продолжится до 2025 года.
Напомним, что в октябре 2021 года компания заказала 22 500 ASIC-майнеров для использования их на новых площадках в Техасе и Южной Каролине.
