В Ведомстве по патентам и товарным знакам США (USPTO) зарегистрирована патентная заявка от Intel, описывающая способ применения блокчейн для контроля авторских прав на цифровую видеопродукцию.
Разработчики Intel предлагают использовать блокчейн для «…документирования и проверки атрибутов цифрового контента, имеющих отношение к защите авторских прав». В качестве параметров может использоваться личный идентификатор автора видеоматериала, временная метка, указывающая время создания контента. Кроме того могут быть использованы и дополнительные инструменты, позволяющие определить несанкционированное копирование или изменение видео.
Патент позволяет работать с фотографиями и различными незаконченными блоками видео контента. Ранее Intel уже патентовала изобретение, связанное с использованием блокчейн для исследований в области генетики.
