Компания Diar, занимающаяся исследованиями блокчейн-технологии, опубликовала данные о прибыльности майнинга биткоина. Впервые оказалось, что непродолжительные майнинговые операции, за которые платя по розничным ценам, стали неприбыльными.
Биткоин-майнеры сейчас зарабатывают 54,000 BTC ($355 млн.) каждый месяц за совершение транзакций. Им также платят пользователи в виде комиссионных за транзакции.
Однако крупнейшие в мире майнинговые фермы едва-едва получают прибыль от майнинга биткоина – в лучшем случае.
Ситуация настолько отчаянна, что Diar отмечает, что крупнейший в мире оператор майнинг-пулов Bitmain будет вынужден «перераспределять» хэшрейт между странами, чтобы уменьшить расходы на электроэнергию и достичь прибыльности на всех своих фермах.
Как ожидается, такое перераспределение может усилиться, поскольку Bitmain открывает три новых криптовалютных фермы в США в первом квартале 2019 года.
