Канадская платежная компания Glance объявила, что ее клиенты отныне смогут использовать биткоин в качестве платежного средства для оплаты покупок и услуг. В пресс-релизе говорится, что сервис называется «Плати биткоином» (Pay With Bitcoin).
Впрочем, несмотря на название, технология отличается от традиционных криптовалютных платежных систем. Для того, чтобы использовать сервис, пользователи Glance Pay должны сначала конвертировать биткоины в криптовалюту Glance Dollars.
Как объясняется в пресс-релизе, «Glance Dollars представляют собой кредит, который можно использовать сразу во всех торговых точках, входящих в экосистему Glance Pay».
Компания объясняет, что конвертация биткоина в Glance Dollars даст пользователям возможность совершать платежи быстро. Поскольку транзакции в сети Bitcoin могут занимать от нескольких минут до нескольких часов, использование криптовалюты непосредственно для розничных покупок было бы непрактичным.
Еще одно преимущество такого подхода – торговые точки смогут использовать криптовалюту в качестве платежного средства без открытия криптокошельков и без использования дополнительных приборов.
