Главная задача – повысить совместимость ETC с блокчейном Ethereum. По словам разработчиков, совместимость будет полной благодаря внедрению в протокол ETC всех изменений и нововведений сети ETH.

На этот счет уже высказал свое мнение старший аналитик Bestchange.ru Никита Зуборев. Он сомневается, что цена Ethereum Сlassic снова вырастет на 250%.
Факт перехода к одному стандарту в обеих сетях — это хорошая новость. Но это еще не говорит о реальном объединении.
«Мы думаем, что обе сети будут существовать отдельно друг от друга. Вероятно, объединение к общим стандартам объединит усилия разработчиков в последующих хардфорках и позволит их делать параллельно в разных блокчейнах. Но разговоры о предстоящем хардфорке не должны значительно повлиять на рыночную стоимость Ethereum Сlassic», — сказал Зуборев.

А вот руководитель финтех-компании Exantech Денис Восквицов предполагает, что курс ETC должен вырасти, но на фоне ожидаемого обновления сети Ethereum ко второй версии.
«Сейчас главная интрига вокруг Ethereum — произойдет ли в этом году переход на алгоритм PoS. Сегодня ETH — самая популярная валюта для майнинга на GPU. Однако, доходность ETC в этом смысле отличается несущественно. Если ETH сменит принцип с PoW на PoS, его майнеры будут вынуждены искать другие монеты, и ETC может оказаться кандидатом номер один.», – объяснил Восквицов.
