Первой из криптовалютных компаний Avanti подала заявку на получения статуса банка-участника Федеральной резервной системы США (ФРС). Информацией об этом поделился CEO и основатель компании Кейтлин Лонг.

Также команда Avanti подчеркивает, что новая заявка отличается от обращения с просьбой предоставить компании доступ к платежной системе ФРС через мастер-счет (master account). Ранее была подана другая заявка (2020 год), которая и сейчас находится на рассмотрении.
«Avanti в равной степени соответствует требованиям членства и доступа к платежной системе. […] Одобрив обращение, ФРС откроет доступ к регулированию и другим отвечающим требованиям субъектам индустрии цифровых активов», — сказано в пресс-релизе.
Дата подачи заявки – 5 августа 2021 года. The Wall Street Journal опубликовала релиз компании и указала на усилия банковских лоббистов, которые хотят заблокировать компаниям из сферы цифровых активов прямой доступ к платежным сервисам.
На данный момент организациям по типу Avanti и Kraken необходимо сотрудничать с традиционными банками, у которых есть мастерс-счета ФРС.
Лонг также называет позицию банков лицемерной. Уверена, что лоббисты индустрии «не устают повторять, что криптовалютные компании должны соответствовать более высоким стандартам, чем традиционные банки», но сами предлагают клиентам связанные с цифровыми активами услуги.
