Втрати виявилися значно нижчими порівняно з першим та четвертим кварталами 2022 року. Тоді хакери викрали $1,3 млрд та $950 млн відповідно.
На думку аналітиків, зниження рівня втрат можна пов’язати із зовнішніми факторами, які впливають на криптоіндустрію загалом. Мається на увазі нещодавнє падіння банків Silvergate Bank, Signature Bank и Silicon Valley Bank.
За звітний період понад $31 млн втрачено в результаті 90 випадків екзит-скаму та близько $222 млн у ході 52 експлойтів з використанням миттєвих позик.
Найбільш атакованою мережею стала BNB Chain, де було виявлено 139 інцидентів. Найбільше втрат зазнали проєкти на блокчейні Ethereum — $221,8 млн.
Аналітики зазначили, що 60% загальної суми крадіжок припало на DeFi-протокол Euler Finance. 13 березня хакер вивів із мережі понад $196 млн у криптовалюті. Проте згодом зловмисник повернув 90% викрадених коштів.
До слова, 5 квітня невідомий вкрав близько $1 млн у цифрових активах з DeFi-протоколу ліквідності Sentiment. Але наступного дня повернув $870 000.
