Партнером для реализации сервиса Send Globally выступила платформа Bitnob.
Через приложение можно отправить фунты стерлингов (GBP) или евро (EUR) в Нигерию, Кению и Гану прямо на банковский счет.
Во время проведения транзакции, средства клиента CoinCorner при использовании Send Globally конвертируются в биткоин и через Lightning Network отправляются на Bitnob. Последняя сразу переводит их в соответствующую местную валюту: найры (NGN), шиллинги (KES) или седи (GHS).
Согласно информации CoinCorner, в направлении этих трех стран только из Великобритании ежегодный объем переводов составляет около 12 млрд GBP.
Вдобавок, глава Bitnob Бернард Пара напомнил, что африканские страны южнее Сахары остаются одним из самых дорогих регионов для денежных переводов. По данным Всемирного банка на конец 2020 года, отправка туда $200 в среднем стоила 8,2% от суммы.
