Звезда телевидения Великобритании Мартин Льюис (Martin Lewis) подает в суд на Facebook за распространение недостоверных сведений. Такой иск самый известный эксперт в области прав человека в стране подает после того, как было обнаружено более 50 «мошеннических» рекламных объявлений с его именем. В иске говорится, что мошенники используют репутацию известного правозащитника, чтобы заманить людей в криптовалютный бизнес, использующий «схему быстрого и сомнительного обогащения» через фальшивые рекламные объявления на Facebook про ICO или криптовалюту.
Льюис неоднократно сообщал о поддельных объявлениях, но ему ответили, что их удаление может занять «дни или недели», прежде чем они будут полностью удалены из Facebook. По заявлению Льюиса, после удаления одних объявлений «мошенники буквально сразу просто начинают новую, почти идентичную кампанию».
«Я не занимаюсь рекламой и сообщил об этом Facebook. Я попросил не публиковать ничего, где присутствует моя фотография или имя. Либо, в крайнем случае, связаться со мной и проверить легитимность публикации. Это не должно быть сложно. Настало время, чтобы Facebook был привлечен к ответственности», — сказал Льюис в своем блоге.
