Японские криптовалютные биржи зафиксировали 5944 подозрительные транзакции за первые 10 месяцев 2018 года, сообщает CoinDesk. Эти данные были опубликованы Национальным полицейским агентством Японии (NPA), в котором указано, что случаи были зарегистрированы с января по октябрь.
Приводимый показатель в 7,88 раз больше, чем за предыдущий период с апреля по декабрь 2017 года. Полицейское ведомство заявляет, что в апреле 2017 года в Агентстве по финансовым услугам Японии (FSA) были приняты нормативы, которые привели криптовалютные биржи в соответствии с правилами по борьбе с отмыванием денег (AML) и Know-your-customer (KYC).
«Уже прошло некоторое время с момента создания новой системы отчетности, которая охватила отрасль после принятия руководства Агентства по финансовым услугам», – заявил официальный представитель NPA.
Правила FSA предусматривают, что биржи обязаны сообщать о подозрительных транзакциях для пресечения попыток использования криптовалюты в качестве инструмента для содействия незаконной финансовой деятельности.
Однако несмотря на рост подозрительных криптовалютных транзакций они составляют всего 1,7% от общего количества выявленных предположительно незаконных финансовых операций. NPA заявила, что за аналогичный 10-месячный период было получено 346139 сообщений о транзакциях, связанных с отмыванием денег и другими незаконными операциями.
Напомним, заместитель министра финансов по вопросам терроризма и финансовой разведки США Сигал Манделкер призвала участников криптовалютной индустрии и регулирующие органы к недопущению незаконного использования цифровых активов.
