В отчете за второй квартал 2021 года зафиксирован доход в $2,72 млрд и валовая прибыль в $55 млн от продажи биткоина через приложение Cash App. В прошлом году эти показатели составили $875 млн и $17 млн соответственно.
Если сравнивать показатели за второй квартал с отчетом з апервый квартал, то они оказались ниже значений за январь-март ($3,51 млрд и $75 млн).
Совокупный чистый доход в апреле-июне вырос на 143% — до $4,68 млрд.
В личных сообщениях к акционерам компания отметила рост цены биткоина и связанного с ним интереса клиентов за прошедший год. В поквартальном выражении эти же причины привели к отрицательной динамике показателей.
Итоги второго квартала фиксируют $45 млн убытка Square из-за отрицательной переоценки приобретенных на баланс биткоинов. По данным на 30 июня, реальную стоимость цифрового золота оценили в $281 млн, что на $127 млн выше его балансовой стоимости.
Напомним, на днях Square анонсировала покупку сервиса рассрочки Afterpay за $29 млрд. После закрытия сделки Square интегрирует приложение в эквайринг и в Cash App Square.
