В ходе финансирования серии А социальная сеть Minds, позиционирующаяся как сеть на основе блокчейн, привлекла 6 млн долларов от компании Medici Ventures – блокчейн-подразделения онлайн-ритейлера Overstock.
Сеть Minds основана в 2011 году и недавно презентовала запуск собственного токена ERC-20, работающего в блокчейн сети эфириум, который используется для вознаграждения пользователей за активность на платформе, а также для получения доступа к платным услугам на платформе.
«В последние годы растет уверенность в возможностях технологии блокчейн предоставить истинную свободу для отдельных лиц и организаций. Работа Minds, использующая технологию блокчейн в качестве приложения для социальных сетей, является следующим большим нововведением в применении этой инновационной технологии», — сказал Патрик Бирн, основатель и генеральный директор Overstock.com.
После проведения первого раунда финансирования Бирн был введен в совет директоров Minds.
Напомним, в сентябре 2018 года гигант розничной торговли Overstock распространил сообщение, что с 2019 года будет осуществлять прямую продажу биткоина через свой основной сайт. При этом техническую реализацию проекта осуществляет дочерняя компания Overstock — Medici Ventures, «…мировой лидер в технологии блокчейн», теперь инвестирующая в проект Minds.
