Компания Ripple объявила о намерении до конца 2018 года открыть офис в Дубае (Объединенные Арабские Эмираты). Об этом заявил директор по глобальной инновационной инфраструктуре компании Дайлип Рао (Dilip Rao) на Глобальном исламском экономическом саммите, проходившем в Дубае.
В своем выступлении Рао отметил, что Ripple будет фокусироваться на трансграничных платежах. Он добавил, что компания – «не чужая» на Ближнем Востоке и уже сотрудничает с рядом финансовых учреждений региона.
«У нас сейчас три банка в Саудовской Аравии, два в Кувейте, один в Бахрейне, один в Омане, пара в ОАЭ. И это – действительно самый быстрорастущий рынок», – сказал представитель Ripple.
Согласно статистике Всемирного банка (WB), богатые нефтедобывающие страны Ближнего Востока являются одним из крупнейших источников денежных переводов в мире из-за огромного количества иностранных рабочих, задействованных в экономике. По данным WB, в 2016 году около 10 млн. иностранных рабочих Саудовской Аравии (при 33 млн. населения страны) перевели за рубеж $37 млрд.
Как считает Дайлип Рао, основанные на блокчейне продукты и решения, которые создает компания, соответствуют нормам Шариата, что важно для мусульманских стран.
«Возможность узнать, каковы базовые активы транзакции, идентифицировать участников, быть в состоянии четко понимать договорные роли и обязанности и способность снижать риски — все это согласуется с принципами Шариата», – подчеркнул Рао.
