Центробанк Австралии не планирует выпуск своей криптовалюты (CBDC) в ближайшее время, поскольку по мнению банка существующая финансовая система «работает хорошо».
Выступая на банковском семинаре Swift International Banking Operations Seminar (SIBOS), проходящем в Сиднее, помощник главы Резервного банка Австралии (RBA) Мишель Буллок (Michelle Bullock) заявила, что главный банк страны пока не нашел убедительных причин для создания цифровой версии австралийского доллара.
Как сообщает издание Financial Review, Булок отметила, что “RBA не заинтересован в выпуске цифровой валюты для использования внутри страны, поскольку уже имеющаяся система работает хорошо, и пользователям не нужен доступ к прямым расчетам для совершения транзакций”.
Однако, Буллок подчеркнула, что CBDC могут сыграть определенную ограниченную роль, хотя финтех-сектор должен взять на себя обязанность доказать преимущества новой технологии по сравнению с традиционными финансовыми системами.
