Детали обвинения
Komid работает уже около года. Обвинение утверждает, что Чой зарегистрировал более 5 фейковых аккаунтов. Они использовались для завышения объемов как в корейской воне, так и в криптовалютах. CEO Komid обвиняют в должностном преступлении, растрате и мошенничестве.
Два ответчика сфабриковали 5 млн. транзакций. Таким образом, они хотели убедить инвесторов в реальности отображаемых объемов торгов. Мошенникам удалось заработать около $45 млн.
Их также подозревают в использовании бота, который автоматически создавал крупные заявки, привлекавшие пользователей. По мнению судьи, у злоумышленников изначально не было четких мошеннических намерений.
Нанесенный ущерб удалось минимизировать за счет того, что часть средств была возвращена пострадавшим. При этом уверенность в надежности биржи все равно была подорвана, а внутренний рынок криптовалют подвергся негативному воздействию.
