Комиссия по ценным бумагам и биржам США (SEC) выдвинула обвинения супружеской паре из Техаса в обмане сотен людей посредством нескольких мошеннических инвестиционных предложений.
По информации SEC, бывший пастор Ларри Доннел Леонард и его супруга Шувана Леонард привлекли средства от 500 инвесторов через свои компании Teshuater и Teshua Business Group.
Сначала пара продавала поддельные акционерные сертификаты компании по производству щелочной воды
Затем они предприняли попытку провести токенсейл на $20 млн монеты TeshuaCoin, якобы обеспеченной продуктами Teshuater.
После этого Ларри Леонард привлек средства на несуществующий бизнес по добыче биткоина, пообещав инвесторам «запредельно высокую доходность». Полученные деньги Леонард направил в спекулятивную торговлю опционами.
Также, согласно SEC, при сборе средств Леонарды делали упор в основном на афроамериканских инвесторов.
Ведомство обвиняет супружескую пару в нарушении законодательства о ценных бумагах и мошенничестве, просит суд взыскать с них привлеченные средства и наложить штраф.
