SEC объявила об этой новости в понедельник, указав, что Коэн подал в отставку после 15 лет службы. До киберподразделения Роберт работал в Комиссии в качестве начальника Отдела по борьбе с злоупотреблениями на рынке.
На своей последней должности руководителя кибергруппы, Коэн занимался нарушениями, связанными с криптовалютами, первичными предложениями монет (ICO) и другими злоупотреблениями, связанными с электронной торговлей.
Коэн вел громкие дела
Коэн вел несколько громких дел, в частности – подал в суд на компанию Kik Interactive Inc. за продажу незарегистрированных ценных бумаг на 100 миллионов долларов, и урегулировал дело с участием профессионального боксера Флойда Мэйуэзера-младшего (Floyd Mayweather Jr.) и музыкального продюсера DJ Khaled, которые якобы скрыли платежи, полученные ими за продвижение ICO.
Коэн также контролировал, кроме прочего, дела против ICO Centra Tech на 32 миллиона долларов США, EtherDelta и ее главы Закари Кобёрна (Zachary Coburn) из-за деятельности в качестве незарегистрированной национальной биржи ценных бумаг, ICO Airfox на 15 миллионов долларов США и ICO компании Paragon Coin.
