В окружной суд Род-Айленда поступило ходатайство от Комиссии по ценным бумагам и биржам США (SEC) насчет отклонении заявления держателей токена XRP от Ripple.
Напомним, в начале января 2021 года группа инвесторов потребовала от регулятора изменить иск к калифорнийской компании и не называть монету ценной бумагой. Согласно их слов, SEC «умышленно и намеренно» причининяет держателям XRP «многомиллиардные» убытки.
По мнению регулятора, заявители не нашли веских оснований для отказа от выбранной позиции.
«У авторов документа нет доказательств, что платформы для торговли цифровыми активами изменят курс или что стоимость XRP увеличится, после того, как комиссия внесет поправки в свой иск», — ответили в SEC.
Из-за конфликта Ripple с властями США многие крупные компании временно не поддерживают токен XRP. В их числе — Bitstamp, Coinbase и OKCoin, Kraken и Galaxy Digital.
Нужно также напомнить, что недавно Гарлингхаус заявил, что у Ripple не возникло никаких проблем для бизнеса в Азиатско-Тихоокеанском регионе из-за подачи иска SEC. С его слов, этому способствовала четкая нормативная база.
А на днях компания Ripple Labs выиграла в суде иск британской инвестиционной фирмы Tetragon Financial Group с целью выкупить свою долю в финтех-компании.
