Кроме того будет заложена потенциальная возможность в дальнейшем увеличить производительность до 100 млн транзакций в секунду.
Конкуренция основных блокчейн сетей
Бутерин много раз указывал, что решение проблемы масштабируемости является основной ареной для конкуренции существующих блокчейн платформ. В сентябре 2017 года Виталик отметил, что биткоин и эфириум обрабатывают от 3 до 6 транзакций в секунду на максимальной мощности. Этой производительности явно недостаточно для конкуренции с платежными системами Visa, фондовыми рынками Nasdaq и Internet of Things (IoT), имеющими производительность в сотни тысяч транзакций в секунду.
В дальнейшем Бутерин заявил, что решения для масштабирования второго уровня, которые в настоящее время тестируются в блокчейн сети эфириум, позволят поддерживать децентрализованные приложения миллионам пользователей.
Разработка решений Plasma и Sharding
Совместная работа Бутерина и автора Lightning Network Джозефа Пуна (Joseph Poon) привела к появлению решения Plasma, работающего аналогично Lightning Network для биткоина. Это позволяет Ethereum обрабатывать микроплатежи для более быстрой обработки информации, повышая безопасность основного протокола эфириум.
Применяя решение Sharding, сеть эфириума начинает работать в 100 раз быстрее, а Plasma, работающая поверх Sharding, повышает скорость еще в 100 раз. Это означает, по мнению Бутерина, прирост масштабируемости в 10000 раз.
Напомним, что в сети эфириум с 2017 года запущено свыше 1000 децентрализованных платформ и 700 токенов.
