Валютное управление Сингапура (MAS), центральный банк города-государства, работает над интеграцией криптовалюты в систему внутренних банковских услуг в рамках программы по стимулированию развития финансовых технологий, сообщает CoinDesk.
Управляющий директор MAS Рави Менон (Ravi Menon) заявил, что центральный банк пытается «…объединить банки и криптовалютные финтех-стартапы, чтобы осознать насколько эта интеграция будет выгодной».
Менон отметил, что самой серьезной проблемой, с которой в настоящее время сталкиваются криптовалютные стартапы в Сингапуре является то, что традиционные банки неохотно открывают банковские счета для таких компаний. Основной причиной для этого является неопределенность регуляторной политики в новой финансовой области.
«Характер этого бизнеса немного отличается, поэтому банкам придется использовать дополнительные методы, с помощью которых они могут установить добросовестность криптовалютных компаний», – разъяснил главный банкир Сингапура.
MAS, по словам Менона, при работе с криптовалютными стартапами не будет использовать японскую схему предоставления лицензий для компаний, работающих с цифровыми активами.
