Первоначальная эмиссия TON Crystal была чуть больше 5 млрд монет, распределенных в специальные giver-кошельки при запуске основной сети Free TON в мае 2020 года. Из этих кошельков монеты попадали в свободный оборот через награды призерам конкурсов, а также через выплаты партнерам и валидаторам сети.
На данный момент в доступном обороте находится около 736 млн TON Crystal.
Предложение сжечь 3 млрд монет было озвучено в рамках реформы экосистемы, которую одобрил управляющий совет Free TON. По мнению авторов программы, большой объем нераспределенных TON Crystal в giver-кошельках «несет масштабный риск для долгосрочной капитализации проекта».
Также запланировано создание публичного некоммерческого фонда Free TON, изменение подхода к работе с партнерами и к листингу TON Crystal, а также внедрение новых методов привлечения разработчиков.
