Сегодня офис компании в Сеуле снова посетила полиция. Правительство Южной Кореи арестовало акции холдинга Bithumb Holdings, принадлежащие генеральному директору биржи Bithumb Korea Киму Бен Гену.
Арест наложен Центральным районным судом Сеула. До этого Бен Ген безуспешно пытался выкупить Bithumb и требовал конфисковать у председателя Bithumb Holdings Ли Чон Хуна часть принадлежащих ему ценных бумаг.
За сентябрь – это уже третий визит полиции в офис Bithumb. 2 сентября полиция провела обыск в офисе Bithumb Korea, а через несколько дней правоохранители наведались в штаб-квартиру ее родительского холдинга.
Причина такого интереса со стороны полиции – дело о мошенничестве и выводе активов за границу. Напомним, исполнительный директор Bithumb Holdings Ли Чжон Хун обвиняется в инвестиционном мошенничестве с использованием собственного токена Bithumb — BXA.
За токенами BXA стоит консорциум Blockchain Exchange Alliance, образованный в процессе слияния сингапурской «дочки» Bithumb с инвестиционной фирмой Blockchain Industries в начале 2019 года. Южнокорейская биржа планировала получить публичный статус, используя процедуру обратного поглощения, — акции Blockchain Industries уже торговались на американском внебиржевом (OTC) рынке.
В токенсейле BXA участвовали более 300 инвесторов. Однако план провалился, а токены BXA обесценились. Инвесторы, которые рассчитывали, что Bithumb выйдет на фондовый рынок, в совокупности потеряли порядка $25 млн.
