Первое обвинение в мошенничестве с использованием первоначального предложения монет (ICO) завершилось в США покаянием обвиняемого, сообщает Bloomberg. 39-летний Максим Заславский рассказал судье, что он пытался собрать деньги для двух ICO, которые были поддержаны инвестициями в несуществующие недвижимость и алмазы.
«Я сделал эти ложные заявления, чтобы получить деньги от инвесторов», — заявил он в четверг в федеральном суде в Бруклине, Нью-Йорк.
Заславский признался, что он и его сообщники солгали инвесторам, утверждая, что виртуальная валюта REcoin была поддержана инвестициями в недвижимость в развитых странах. При этом было продано свыше 2,8 миллиона токенов REcoin. В августе 2017 года он основал второе криптовалютное предприятие под названием Diamond Reserve Coin, токены которого якобы поддерживались алмазами.
На самом деле ни недвижимости, ни алмазов в собственности у компаний Заславского не имелось. Мошенник получил 37-месячное заключение по обвинению в «прямой афере» и нарушении закона о ценных бумагах.
Напомним, республиканец Уоррен Дэвидсон разрабатывает законопроект о выводе ICO из-под контроля SEC и закона о ценных бумагах.
