Анонимные источники утверждают, что поставщики и сотрудники компании не получили выплаты, которые им причитаются. Кроме всего прочего, Zwoop задолжал 42 тысячи фунтов маркетинговому агентству и 30 тысяч — PR-фирме.
Основателем проекта является итальянский предприниматель Алессандро Гадотти. Ему удалось привлечь инвестиции в размере $13 млн от миллиардера Роберта Фредленда. О планах провести ICO Zwoop стало известно в августе 2018 года. В сентябре появилось сообщение о том, что по рекомендации юристов оно переносится.

После срыва ICO Гадотти, возможно, покинул компанию. Её сотрудники обнаружили долги на сумму в $2 млн. Средств для их выплаты не было.
Гадотти отвергает причастность к растрате. Он утверждает, что задолженность могла образоваться в результате деятельности проекта.
Zwoop занимался разработкой помощника для обработки естественного языка, машинного распознавания образов и решений в сфере электронной коммерции на базе ИИ.
