Как сообщило издание Daily Post из Пало Альто, Мартин Мариш (Martin Marisch) обвиняется во взломе видеоигр компании Electronic Arts, выпускающих такие популярные продукты как FIFA, The Sims и Battlefield.
Маришу удалось получить доступ с центральной компьютерной системе EA и получить данные 25 000 покупателей. Если бы атака не была замечена, хакер мог бы извлечь из этих данных существенную финансовую выгоду.
Федеральный судья Жаклин Корли (Jacqueline Corley) решила, что обвиняемый должен выплатить эквивалент $750,000 в биткоинах, чтобы его выпустили под залог. Учитывая волатильность криптовалютных рынков, сумма залога будет ежедневно меняться.
Есть рациональная причина
В то время как некоторые энтузиасты празднуют биткоиновый залог как еще один пример широкого применения криптовалют, существует более рациональное юридическое объяснение решения судьи.
Помощник окружного прокурора Эбрахам Симмонс (Abraham Simmons) заявил, что “судьи имеют право выносить решение о залоге и его виде по своему усмотрению. В этом случае, вероятно, причиной решения о биткоине стал род занятий обвиняемого”.
