По итогам III квартала 2021 года компания Tesla зафиксировала рекордные прибыль и выручку. Доходность бизнеса производителя электрокаров выросли на 26,6%, но из-за инвестиций в первую криптовалюту, акции компании обесценились на $51 млн.
Только за квартал компания получила чистую прибыль в размере $1,62 млрд. К примеру, за аналогичный период 2020 года, показатель был $331 млн.
К слову, выручка Tesla достигла $13,76 млрд ($11,9 млрд годом ранее), чем опередила прогноз аналитиков Refinitve, предвещающих показатель в $13,63 млрд. Прибыль на акцию также превзошла ожидания экспертов — $1,86 на бумагу против прогнозируемых $1,59.
Что касается инвестиции $1,5 млрд в биткоин в феврале, то средняя цена покупки составила $34 963. Позже Илон Маск назвал решение «достаточно рискованным».
Исходя из правил учета цифровых активов в США, в случае их обесценивание в течение квартала организация информирует об убытках. Если цена криптовалюты растет, это не отражается как прибыль на балансе.
Учитывая то, что в октябре цена биткоина выросла практически на 50% — биткоин обновил исторический максимум выше $67 000. На момент написания актив торгуется вблизи отметки $65 900.
Исходя из информации сервиса Bitcoin Treasuries, Tesla владеет 43 200 BTC — с учетом актуального курса их стоимость превышает $2,8 млрд.
