Исследования подтвердили, что блокчейн-технология, изначально созданная для криптовалют, также пригодна для мгновенного токенизирования, а также обмена активов и денег.
«Теперь платежи можно доставлять таким образом, которым это никогда не осуществлялось ранее. А именно – путем прямого обмена наличными между продавцами и покупателями, что приводит к мгновенным расчетам», – сказал Джерри Гаети, президент и главный исполнительный директор Payments Canada.
У специалистов есть сомнения
Впервые пилотный проект на основе блокчейна был анонсирован в 2016 году. Его последний этап запустили в конце прошлого года. Однако старший специалист Bank of Canada Скотт Хендри выразил сомнения касательно преимуществ, которые может предложить система с точки зрения экономии.
«Мы не уверены, что после выполнения этой работы участники смогут существенно сэкономить. Пока неясно, получат ли банки и участники торгов выгоду от этой системы расчетов», – сказал он.
