Планируется, что после прохождения месячной проверки Затко приступит к обязанностям. Его прямым руководителем будет СЕО Twitter Джек Дорси. Компания возлагает надежды на проведение им изменений в структуре и методах работы соцсети.
Для справки. В 90-е годы Затко был главой хакерской группировки в Cult of the Dead Cow, которая разработала инструменты для взлома Windows. Главная цель – мотивировать Microsoft повысить безопасность. Вместе с этим он выполнял заказы для подрядчиков из правительства США.
До этого назначения Затко работал над безопасностью компании Stripe, некоторых проектов в Google и курировал выдачу грантов на проекты по кибербезопасности в одном из агентств Пентагона.
