Экологически чистый туалет BeeVi разработал профессор Чо Джэ Веон. Для этого он соединен с лабораторией, которая использует экскременты для производства биогаза. От него питаются устройства в здании, в том числе газовая плита и бойлер.
«Если мыслить нестандартно, фекалии имеют ценность для производства электроэнергии. Я ввел эту ценность в экологический оборот», – сказал Чо.
Согласно подстветам ученого, ежедневно человек производит порядка 500 грамм испражнений, которые можно преобразовать в 50 литров метана. Благодаря такому количеству газа генерируется 0,5 кВт электроэнергии, что равняется затратам автомобиля для преодоления расстояния в 1,2 км.
На данном этапе инициатива приносит учащимся 10 Ggool в день. Монету принимают в качестве оплаты в магазинах на территории кампуса.
Важно сказать, что Ggool не является криптовалютой и не может быть получен за пределами южнокорейского университета.
