Верховный суд Венесуэлы признал криптовалюту Petro (PTR) законным платежным средством. Суд одобрил «Указ о криптоактивах и суверенной криптовалюте Petro», изданный высшим законодательным органом страны, Национальной конституционной ассамблеей.
Таким образом, все ветви венесуэльской власти – исполнительная, законодательная и судебная – официально признали Petro средством денежных расчетов. Указ важен тем, что наряду с Petro легальным платежным средством признаны и другие криптовалюты.
«Государство будет способствовать распространению криптовалют в качестве средства платежа и выступать гарантом такого использования в деятельности общественных институтов и частных компаний внутри страны и за ее пределами», – сказано в постановлении суда.
Отметим, что в конце октября Верховный суд страны принял решение о денежной компенсации венесуэльским рабочим в размере 266 PTR. Решение вызвало повышенный интерес венесуэльских юристов, поскольку подразумевало признание Petro в качестве законного платежного средства. Также оно навлекло на себя критику тех, кто считает, что единственной легальной валютой в Венесуэле должен быть боливар.
