В рамках этого проекта из федерального бюджета выделят $52 млрд для дотаций американским компаниям, производящим полупроводники. Кроме этого производители смогут получить налоговые льготы и субсидии, стимулирующие их к развитию бизнеса.
Ряд сенаторов-республиканцев раскритиковал законопроект. По их словам, с помощью документа демократы продвигают вопросы климата, медицины и налогообложения. Также некоторые законотворцы считают, что часть федеральных средств, предусмотренных законом, может попасть в Китай.
На очереди одобрение закона Палатой представителей.
Отреагировал даже Президент США Джо Байден. Он назвал решение Сената историческим, так как этот законопроект позволит уменьшить зависимость США от иностранных поставщиков, снизить цены на электронику и создать тысячи новых рабочих мест.
