Акции компании RIOT таким образом выросли на 1250% с начала года и опередили стремительно растущий биткоин (+280%) и даже лидера фондового рынка 2020 года, компанию Маска Tesla (+711%). На сегодняшний день одна акция RIOT стоит около 16 долларов США (+1250%), в то время как в декабре 2019 года она оценивалась в 1,3 доллара США.
Основными драйверами резкого роста акций RIOT стал рост цены биткоина, на майнинг которого фирма предусмотрительно перебросила все свои мощности, после отказа от добычи Litecoin и Bitcoin Cash. На протяжении 2018 года RIOT расширяла присутствие на майнинговом рынке, приобретя майнинговое предприятие в Оклахома-Сити и 7500 единиц Antminer S9.
С ноября Riot выпустила около 17 миллионов акций, достигнув общего объема в 67,5 миллиона акций. В криптовалютный бизнес компания пришла из промышленности биотехнологий. В момент перехода на новую бизнес-модель стоимость компании составляла всего 50 млн долларов.
