Популярность использования биткоина в традиционной банковской системе растет. Аргентинский Banco Masventas заявил, что, начиная с 22 мая 2018 года, клиентам банка разрешается отправлять трансграничные платежи с использованием биткоина. Партнером банка выступил ориентированный на финансовые структуры Латинской Америки стартап Bitex, основанный в 2014 году. Использование биткоина в качестве платежного инструмента для проведения международных платежей представляет собой систему, альтернативную SWIFT.
Главный управляющий Bitex Мануэль Бодройт (Manuel Beaudroit) отметил, что это первый случай в истории Аргентины, когда банк использовал криптовалюту для осуществления международной финансовой операции.
Совладелец Masventas Хосе Дакак (Jose Dakak), комментируя использование криптовалюты, отметил, что банк стремится применять новейшие технологии в сфере финансов для расширения мобильных цифровых услуг и снижения стоимости транзакций:
«Банк при осуществлении транзакции для наших зарубежных клиентов будет использовать платформу Bitex».
Мануэль Бодройт раскрыл механизм транзакций с биткоином. Клиент отправляет запрос на трансграничный перевод в банк, тот, в свою очередь, использует платформу Bitex. Клиент банка при этом не покупает и не продает биткоин.
Напомним, банковская группа Mitsubishi выпустит собственную криптовалюту в 2019 году.
