Центральный банк Азербайджана (ЦБА) очень осторожно относится к криптовалютам и считает, что такие финансовые инструменты сопряжены с большими рисками. Об этом в четверг заявил в Баку первый заместитель председателя ЦБА Алим Гулиев.
Центральный банк Азербайджана указал, что он не намерен выпускать виртуальную валюту с государственной поддержкой, также известную как цифровая валюта центрального банка (CBDC). Отмечая основные риски использования новых финансовых инструментов, Гулиев в первую очередь обратил внимание на криминальное использование цифровых валют для отмывания денег.
В феврале председатель ЦБА Эльман Рустамов призвал азербайджанских граждан быть осторожными в операциях с криптовалютами. По его мнению, эти инвестиции очень рискованны и опасны.
Однако в банковской среде мнения о CBDC неоднозначно. На этой неделе глава МВФ Кристин Лагард (Christine Lagarde) призвала центральные банки ведущих стран мира изучить идею цифровой валюты, поддерживаемой государством.
