Владелец Нью-Йоркской фондовой биржи Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) планирует выделить в 2019 году более 20 миллионов долларов на запуск и развитие криптовалютной платформы Bakkt, сообщает CoinDesk.
В отчете о результатах работы за 4 квартал 2018 года финансовый директор ICE Скотт Хилл объявил, что инвестиции в Bakkt в текущем году запланированы в размере от 20 до 25 млн долларов. Ранее, в январе платформа Bakkt успешно завершила сбор средств в размере 182 млн долларов, необходимых для начала работы и решения вопросов с регуляторными органами.
Дата запуска платформы для торговли биткоин фьючерсами откладывалась уже два раза. Одной из причин переноса начала работы Bakkt явился самый длительный в истории США «шатдаун» правительства, что задержало выдачу разрешения для платформы от Комиссии по торговле товарными фьючерсами.
В отчете о расходах, генеральный директор ICE Джефф Спрекер (Jeff Sprecher) заявил, что, несмотря на то, что Bakkt крайне важный и амбициозный проект — это не типичный продукт для ICE. Тем не менее для создания инфраструктуры были привлечены такие авторитетные инвесторы как Microsoft и Starbucks.
В настоящее время Bakkt является компанией, в которой ICE выступает в качестве основного инвестора. Однако, по словам Спрекера, Bakkt может быть полностью выделена в отдельную компанию на более позднем этапе.
Относительно времени запуска в работу платформы Bakkt заявление Спрекера было крайне расплывчатым — платформа приступит к работе «…позднее в этом году».
Напомним, на прошлой неделе был создан фейковый сайт, на котором утверждалось, что Bakkt начинает работу 12 марта 2019 года.
